Tanabata, or Star Festival, is a Japanese celebrating a lefend of two deities that meet only once a year during summer. The upcoming date is July 7th.
During this time, wishes are written on narrow strips of paper and hung on branches in backyards or entrances to homes in the hopes that their wish will come true. These are called "tanzaku."
These ceramic versions of tanzaku are created by hand by local artist Jen e, and are more permanent ornaments that celebrate this ancient tradition. Each piece is unique in it's carvings and bead work.
Hudson Beach classic, versatile glass bowls can be used for salt, jewelry, flowers and are beatiful as decorative pieces.
